    Role & responsibilities

    1. INSTRUMENTATION SHIFT INCHARGE

    • Handle day-to-day instrumentation shift activities, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and breakdown rectification of DCS, PLC, process analyzers, weighbridges, control valves, and field instruments.
    • Perform installation, connection, testing, inspection, and maintenance of field instruments, including RTDs, thermocouples, level sensors/transmitters, pressure and level gauges, and flow meters.
    • Carry out calibration of instrumentation equipment and ensure accurate and reliable measurement of process parameters.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of DCS, PLC systems, field Remote I/O (RIO) panels, analyzers, and other instrumentation control systems.
    • Perform pneumatic tubing, instrument tubing connections, and associated installation work for control valves and field transmitters.
    • Support preventive and breakdown maintenance activities to ensure the availability and reliability of instrumentation equipment.
    • Carry out cleaning of DCS panels, field RIO panels, field instruments, and associated instrumentation equipment.
    • Assist senior technicians and engineers in instrument maintenance, fault identification, testing, and equipment restoration.
    • Follow plant safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable, and proper PPE usage during maintenance activities.
    • Maintain good housekeeping in the instrumentation work area and ensure tools and equipment are handled safely.

    2. INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

    • Field Instrument Maintenance & Connection: Connect, test, and troubleshoot primary field elements including RTDs (PT100/PT1000), thermocouples (J/K/R/S types), level transmitters, and flow meters (electromagnetic, vortex, Coriolis, differential pressure).
    • Gauge & Sensor Testing: Inspect, install, and calibrate pressure transmitters/gauges, differential pressure (DP) cells, and direct/remote level indicators.
    • Control Valve Servicing: Inspect air tubing, gland packing, stroke travel, limit switches, and positioners on control valves; assist in valve overhauling and bench testing.
    • Calibration Support: Conduct routine field and shop calibrations using deadweight testers, standard calibrators, and temperature baths; maintain calibration tags and records.
    • System Awareness: Maintain working familiarity with DCS/PLC I/O cards, junction boxes (JBs), weighbridge load cells, and analytical sampling lines to assist engineers during complex troubleshooting.
    • Safety Protocols: Follow plant safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot/cold work permits, and intrinsic safety practices in hazardous areas.

    Preferred candidate profile
