    About this role

Company Description PYAAS is a dairy startup that connects urban families with traceable, farm-specific milk from small family farms in Uttar Pradesh. Each pack of milk is fully traceable through a QR code, showing the farms involved, quality tests, and handling timeline. The company currently sources milk from four mapped family farms in Gonda, with more in the pipeline, ensuring each farm is personally verified and fairly compensated based on its own test results. PYAAS serves homes in Lucknow with single-farm and family-farms milk, small-batch Bilona cow ghee across India, and acts as Parag's digital storefront for daily milk deliveries in select localities. Operations run on the PYAAS app and the PYAAS Digital Agent Network, enabling local milk vendors and shop owners to serve their neighborhoods on a unified platform.
Role Description The Human Resources Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Lucknow, responsible for leading the HR function and building people practices that support PYAAS's growth. This role oversees the design and implementation of HR policies, talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee development programs. The Human Resources Director manages performance management processes, supports managers in setting goals, and ensures fair and consistent evaluation and feedback. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling employee relations, managing grievance resolution, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture. The role also involves ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, maintaining HR records, partnering with leadership on workforce planning, and guiding change management initiatives as the organization scales.
    Qualifications
    • Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) management, including experience leading HR functions or teams.
    • Ability to design, implement, and maintain clear and effective HR Policies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, coaching, and engagement initiatives.
    • Hands-on experience with Performance Management systems, processes, and tools to support continuous improvement.
    • Working knowledge of Labor and Employment Law in India, with a track record of ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
    • Prior experience in a startup, FMCG, or agri/dairy sector environment is beneficial.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in HRIS tools and basic data analysis to support evidence-based HR decisions.
