Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to handle the repair, servicing, and maintenance of buses, trucks, and other heavy commercial vehicles. The candidate should have hands-on experience in vehicle mechanical systems, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and workshop repair activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, repair, and maintenance of buses, trucks, and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults in engines, gearboxes, clutches, brakes, suspension, and steering systems.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability.
• Identify faults and perform mechanical repairs using appropriate tools and workshop equipment.
• Assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of bus air-conditioning systems, where required.
• Troubleshoot vehicle mechanical and basic electrical issues.
• Ensure timely completion of repair work while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Maintain service records, job cards, and maintenance reports.
• Coordinate with service supervisors and technicians regarding repair activities and spare parts requirements.
• Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the work area.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of bus, truck, and commercial vehicle mechanical systems.
• Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to operate mechanical tools and workshop equipment.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and air-conditioning systems is an advantage.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Automobile, or a related trade.
• Relevant experience in heavy vehicle servicing and repair preferred.
