Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head QA/QC (Mechanical) with 15-30 years of experience in Heat Exchanger Manufacturing, Pressure Vessels, and Process Equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, ensuring compliance with international codes, customer specifications, statutory requirements, and quality management systems throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in ASME, TEMA, Welding Quality, NDT, Material Inspection, Customer Audits, and Project Quality Management.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

• Lead and manage the QA/QC department for Heat Exchanger and Static Equipment manufacturing.
• Establish quality objectives, procedures, inspection plans, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure effective compliance with customer, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with:
• ASME Section VIII
• ASME Section IX
• TEMA Standards
• ASTM Standards
• ISO 9001
• PED (preferred)
• Customer specifications
• Review Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQP), and Procedures.

Quality Control

• Monitor incoming material inspection, in-process inspection, and final product inspections.
• Review dimensional inspection reports and manufacturing records.
• Ensure compliance of fabrication and welding activities with approved procedures.
• Monitor hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and performance testing activities.

Welding Quality Management

• Approve and review:
• WPS
• PQR
• WPQ/WQT
• Ensure welder qualification and certification compliance.
• Monitor welding quality and drive defect reduction initiatives.

NDT & Inspection

• Manage and review:
• RT
• UT
• PT
• MT
• PMI
• Ferrite Testing
• Hardness Testing
• Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies and client inspectors.

Customer & Regulatory Audits

• Lead customer inspections and quality audits.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, TPI agencies, and certification bodies.
• Address customer concerns and quality-related issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and welding engineers.
• Drive performance management and succession planning within the quality department.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience Requirements

• 15-30 years of QA/QC experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 10 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience in:
• Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
• Pressure Vessels
• Columns
• Reactors
• Static Equipment
• Exposure to international projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Energy, and Process Industries.
