Head - Logistics

About the Role:

We are looking for a high-impact Head of Logistics to own the end-to-end logistics function at Ownly. This role will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing logistics network across cities while owning the overall logistics P&L, operational efficiency, service levels, and customer experience. The role requires a strong business leader who can balance growth, cost, speed, quality, and scalability, while building the processes, teams, and network required to support Ownly's expansion.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Own the end-to-end logistics function and P&L, with responsibility for revenue, cost, productivity, and profitability.

2. Develop and execute the overall logistics strategy aligned with Ownly's business and expansion plans.

3. Lead first-mile, middle-mile, last-mile, fulfilment, hub, and delivery operations across the network, as applicable.

4. Design and scale the logistics network across existing and new cities, including hub strategy, capacity planning, fleet requirements, and delivery coverage.

5. Own key logistics metrics including cost per order, cost per delivery, delivery TAT, SLA adherence, productivity, utilization, cancellations, and customer experience.

6. Identify and implement initiatives to continuously improve logistics efficiency, reduce cost, and improve service levels.

7. Build the optimal mix of owned, outsourced, and third-party logistics capacity based on business requirements.

8. Own strategic relationships and commercial negotiations with logistics, fleet, and other external partners.

9. Lead budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning, and regular P&L reviews for the logistics function.

10. Work closely with Finance to identify profitability levers and drive sustainable improvement in logistics contribution margins.

11. Build and lead a strong logistics organisation, including Regional/City Heads, Operations Leaders, and functional teams.

12. Develop a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, customer experience, and continuous improvement.

13. Partner with Product, Technology, Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and Business teams to build scalable logistics solutions.

14. Establish robust processes, SOPs, dashboards, and performance mechanisms across the logistics network.

15. Use data and analytics to identify operational bottlenecks, forecast capacity requirements, and make strategic decisions.

16. Lead the launch and operational ramp-up of logistics operations in new cities.

17. Ensure compliance, safety, quality, and operational governance across the logistics network.

18. Present logistics performance, business insights, risks, and strategic plans to the senior leadership team.

Must Have:

1. 8+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Last-Mile Delivery, E-commerce, Quick Commerce, Hyperlocal, 3PL, or related sectors.

2. Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-city logistics operations.

3. Demonstrated ownership of a large P&L / business unit, with strong understanding of revenue, cost, margins, and profitability.

4. Strong experience in network design, capacity planning, last-mile operations, and logistics cost optimization.

5. Experience building, scaling, and managing large operations teams, including managing managers and senior leaders.

6. Strong commercial experience with logistics/fleet partners, including vendor selection, negotiations, and performance management.

7. Proven track record of improving cost per order/delivery, productivity, utilization, and operational efficiency.

8. Strong analytical and data-driven approach to business and operational decision-making.

9. Experience launching or scaling operations across multiple cities is highly preferred.

10. Strong cross-functional and senior stakeholder management skills.

11. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

12. High ownership and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly scaling environment.
