Role Overview

We are looking for a GNC & Aviation Engineer with 3+ years of relevant experience in guidance, navigation, control systems, flight dynamics, avionics integration, and aerospace system development. The candidate will be responsible for developing, analysing, integrating, and testing GNC and aviation systems for aerospace platforms.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

* Develop and analyse Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) systems for aerospace and aviation platforms.

* Perform 6-DOF flight dynamics and trajectory simulations for different flight conditions.

* Develop guidance and control algorithms for flight-path, attitude, velocity, and trajectory control.

* Work with IMU, GPS/GNSS, magnetometer, altimeter, air-data, and other navigation sensors.

* Develop and implement navigation and sensor-fusion algorithms.

* Perform attitude estimation, state estimation, and filtering using techniques such as Kalman filtering.

* Design and tune PID and other control laws for attitude, trajectory, and flight-control applications.

* Conduct stability, controllability, and flight-performance analysis.

* Develop simulation models and perform SIL/HIL testing of GNC algorithms.

* Support integration of flight computers, autopilots, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.

* Perform hardware and software integration, system-level testing, and troubleshooting.

* Analyse flight-test data and correlate simulation results with experimental performance.

* Support development of flight-test plans, procedures, instrumentation requirements, and test reports.

* Work on aircraft/UAV/rocket aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and performance calculations.

* Perform preliminary sizing and analysis of control surfaces and actuation systems where applicable.

* Support avionics architecture, electrical interfaces, telemetry, and data-acquisition systems.

* Identify system-level risks and participate in failure analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.

* Prepare technical documentation including system requirements, interface specifications, simulation reports, test procedures, and validation reports.

* Coordinate with propulsion, mechanical, electronics, software, and testing teams for system integration.

Required Technical Expertise

* Strong fundamentals in flight dynamics, aerospace engineering, and control systems.

* Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) principles.

* Experience with 6-DOF modelling and trajectory simulation.

* Knowledge of aircraft/UAV/rocket stability and control.

* Experience with IMU, GPS/GNSS, sensor fusion, and navigation systems.

* Knowledge of PID control, state-space modelling, filtering, and control-law development.

* Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, or equivalent engineering tools.

* Understanding of avionics communication protocols and interfaces is desirable.

* Experience with SIL/HIL simulation and hardware integration is preferred.

* Ability to analyse flight-test data and troubleshoot system-level issues.

Educational Qualification

Essential: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in:

* Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering

* Avionics

* Electronics & Communication Engineering

* Electrical Engineering

* Mechanical Engineering with relevant GNC experience

* Other relevant engineering disciplines

Experience

3+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:

* GNC system development

* UAV / aircraft / aerospace systems

* Flight-control systems

* Autopilot development

* Flight dynamics and simulation

* Navigation and sensor fusion

* Avionics integration

* Flight testing and validation

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have a combination of strong theoretical knowledge, simulation capability, and hands-on system-integration experience, with the ability to take GNC/aviation systems from modelling and algorithm development through hardware integration and flight testing.
