Fund Operations Manager

Role Overview

Activate is looking for a Fund Operations Manager to join our team in Mumbai and own the finance and fund operations function across our India fund activities and group entities. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the Category II AIF ecosystem end-to-end and can independently manage the operational and financial backbone of a growing venture capital platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Fund accounting, administration and financial controls
• End-to-end operations of our Category II AIFs
• Capital calls, drawdowns, contributions and distributions
• LP onboarding, KYC, investor records and reporting
• Management fees, fund expenses and cash-flow management
• Fund and entity-level reporting, reconciliations and financial operations
• Coordination with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, banks and legal partners
• Investment-related finance and operational processes
• Statutory, tax and regulatory coordination across group entities
• Building and improving finance and fund operations processes as we scale

Qualifications & Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant experience, with hands-on Category II AIF experience being mandatory
• Prior experience managing finance and operations for a Category II AIF is a must
• Strong understanding of the AIF fund lifecycle, including capital calls, drawdowns, distributions, investor reporting, fund expenses and management fees
• Experience working with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors and other financial service providers
• Strong accounting, financial controls and analytical skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams
• CA or relevant professional qualification / postgraduate degree in finance, accounting, commerce or a related field preferred
• High ownership, attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
