About this role
We are looking for an experienced SAP PP/MM Implementation Lead for a freelance/contract engagement supporting U.S.-based manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SAP PP/MM implementation, production planning, manufacturing processes, master data, testing, deployment, and
MES/shop-floor integrations.

Project: SAP PP/MM Implementation & Manufacturing Transformation
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP PP/MM implementation activities for manufacturing operations.
- Conduct business process discovery, fit-gap analysis, and TO-BE process workshops.
- Gather and document requirements from manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders.
- Configure SAP PP/MM processes and support the complete implementation lifecycle.
- Design and implement:
- MRP
- Production Planning
- Production Orders
- Production Confirmation
- Backflush Processing
- Rework & Repair Orders
- Scrap Management
- Inventory Management
- Configure and manage manufacturing master data including BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions, Material Masters, and MRP parameters.
- Support forecast-to-build and production scheduling processes.
- Coordinate SAP integration with MES, shop-floor systems, SD, MM, FI/CO, and PLM.
- Support master data migration, cleansing, validation, conversion, and governance.
- Develop functional specifications, test scenarios, UAT plans, and execute testing.
- Support cutover, deployment, go-live, and hypercare activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
- Prepare SOPs, process documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Lead cross-functional workshops and coordinate business, SAP, technical, and project teams.
Required Skills
- SAP PP/MM functional implementation experience
- Strong experience with SAP PP and SAP MM
- Full lifecycle SAP implementation experience from design through go-live
- Strong experience in discrete manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with:
- MRP
- BOM
- Material Master
- Routings
- Work Centers
- Production Versions
- Production Orders
- Production Confirmation
- Backflush
- Rework/Repair Orders
- Inventory Movements & Movement Types
- Material Ledger
- SAP Reporting & Database Tables
- Master Data Governance
- UAT, Cutover & Hypercare
- Functional understanding of SAP ABAP
- Experience integrating SAP with MES or shop-floor manufacturing systems is highly preferred.
