Financial Controller (Hospitality) - East Africa

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to manage financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, cash flow, statutory compliance, and overall financial operations within the hospitality industry. The candidate should have strong experience in hotel accounting, revenue reconciliation, departmental cost management, and team leadership.

Qualification: CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification

• Prepare monthly financial statements, profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and management reports.
• Monitor budgets, analyse variances, and provide recommendations for cost control.
• Manage daily revenue audits and reconcile hotel revenue across property management systems, POS systems, and accounting records.
• Monitor food and beverage costs, payroll expenses, stock, and departmental profitability.
• Oversee procurement controls, purchase orders, inventory, and asset records.
• Manage accounts receivable, working capital, banking relationships, and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes, statutory deductions, and other regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain accurate financial records.
• Supervise the finance and accounts team and coordinate with departmental heads.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controls.

• 10-15 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Strong hospitality or hotel finance experience.
• Experience in external audit or accounting practice, hotel income audit, cost control, and financial controllership.
• Knowledge of hotel revenue systems, POS systems, and accounting software.
• Experience in hotel departmental reporting, food costing, inventory control, and budget management.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
• Strong skills in financial reporting, cash flow management, reconciliation, and team leadership.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
