Finance Head - Controllership & Business Finance
Aureum Search Partners · Bengaluru · onsite · Posted 1d ago
About a minute. You'll make an account on the way through.
About this role
This is not a caretaker finance seat. You will be building the finance function a population-scale platform company needs, from first principles.
- Controllership, built from scratch. Stand up the governance backbone, close process, and financial controls a company at this scale and ambition actually needs, not inherited, built.
- Business finance for a platform business. Model, price, and tell the financial story of a technology and platform-selling company, translating product and GTM decisions into numbers leadership and investors can act on.
- Pricing strategy. Own how the company prices its platforms, the commercial judgment behind deal structures, consumption models, and margin, for an enterprise and government-scale customer base.
- Investor relationships. Be a credible, numbers-fluent voice in the room with investors, reporting, modelling, and narrative that holds up under real scrutiny.
- FP&A and budgeting. Build the planning, forecasting, and budgeting discipline that lets a fast-moving deep-tech company scale without losing control of its own numbers.
- Lead, not just execute. You have run a team before. This is not your first time owning outcomes through other people.
WHO YOU ARE:
- If you are a CA: First-attempt pass, a college/batch topper, gold medalist, or a top-3 India rank is what gets our attention fastest.
- If you are not a CA: An IIT and IIM pedigree, or an MBA from an equivalent top-tier institute, with no compromise on 3 to 4 years in genuinely comparable companies and roles.
- You have worked inside a real controllership practice, not just adjacent to one, and you can point to how you moved up within it.
- You have been part of a serious finance team, not a lone generalist desk, and you know the difference.
- You are comfortable with the tools and AI reshaping how finance teams work, and you have actually used them.
- You want to build something from zero at a company that is about to become a lot more visible, not maintain something that already exists.
WHAT WE WILL ACTUALLY ASK YOU:
- On your CA / academics: First attempt? Rank? Gold medal, or top-3 in India? What stood out in your CA Inter and articleship?
- On controllership: Where did you actually learn it, on a real team? What is your claim to fame from that stint, and how did you move up?
- On investor relationships: Walk us through what you actually did, not what the team did.
- On your team: Were you one of many, or one of a small, curated group of strong finance people? Who did you report to, and how was the team structured?
