Fashion Designer Interns

The Opportunity:

A hands-on apprenticeship in classical bespoke tailoring, luxury menswear construction, and Indian ceremonial wear. You will work alongside master cutters, generational Karigars, and founder Chirag Parmar to observe and contribute to the whole bespoke process, from fabric selection to basted fittings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist senior designers and master cutters in taking comprehensive anatomical measurements (20 to 25 measurement points per client).
• Hands-on pattern making: assist with drafting individual paper patterns, master cutting alignments, and basted trial preparation for suits and sherwanis.
• Artistic hand painting: create hand-painted motifs, fabric painting samples, and colour artwork for custom groom wear detailing.
• Source and archive textiles including Italian worsted wools, handwoven raw silks and velvets.
• Coordinate directly with in-house Karigars on embroidery swatches, metallic bullion zardozi placement, and hand-stitched detailing.
• Create technical flat sketches, colour moodboards, and specification sheets for upcoming seasonal collections and bespoke client orders.
• Participate in client trial sessions, documenting fitting feedback, balance adjustments, and posture requirements.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or Textile Design (Must be completed; no students or final year applicants).
• Must know Pattern Making: practical foundation in manual paper pattern drafting, tailoring physics, and garment construction.
• Must know Painting & Illustration: strong hand painting skills on paper and fabrics, colour blending, and manual artwork rendering.
• Keen appreciation for luxury menswear, classical tailoring (floating canvas, soft shoulders, peak lapels), and traditional Indian craftsmanship.
• Proficiency in digital design tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) alongside manual sketching.
• High attention to detail, humble learning mindset, and eagerness to work in an authentic atelier cutting room.
• Fluency in Hindi is a must (essential for daily communication with in-house Karigars and master cutting tailors); working knowledge of English.
