EY GDS – Data and Analytics (D&A) – Microsoft Fabric Data engineers

As part of our EY-GDS D&A (Data and Analytics) team, we help our clients solve complex business challenges with the help of data and technology. We dive deep into data to extract the greatest value and discover opportunities in key business and functions like Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing and Auto, Supply Chain, and Finance.

The opportunity

We are currently seeking a seasoned Fabric Data Engineer with proven experience in Fabric data services (Data Factory, PySpark, SQL) to join our team of professionals. The successful candidate will play a key role in our team, providing cutting-edge data management strategies and leveraging their strong analytical skills to solve complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Engineers and Architects to develop prototypes, conduct proofs of concept, and provide recommendations for the design, development, and operation of complex data environments using Microsoft Fabric.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data engineering solutions leveraging Fabric components.
• Lead training sessions for business and technology teams on enterprise data quality standards, governance, and best practices within Microsoft Fabric.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Fabric tools such as Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL, and PySpark.
• Manage metadata extraction and integration across diverse data sources within the Fabric ecosystem.
• Participate in all phases of the data solution lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience delivering large-scale data engineering projects using Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and PySpark.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Data Factory, PySpark for data processing and transformation.
• Experience with metadata driven data integration framework development.
• A degree in computer science or a similar field, with between 3-7 years of practical experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a developer/designer, specifically with Pyspark, ADF and Azure environment.
• At least one full lifecycle project experience in Microsoft Fabric implementation.
• Strong ability to solve complex problems at scale.
• Experience in integrating systems using ETL or APIs and designing job workflows.
• Flexible, self-motivated approach with strong commitment to problem resolution.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information in a clear and effective manner to a range of different audiences.
• Willingness to work globally and across different cultures, and to participate in all stages of the data solution delivery lifecycle, including pre-studies, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
