Electronic Component Sourcing Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electronic Component Sourcing Engineer to manage component sourcing, supplier coordination, cost optimization, availability, and procurement support for automotive and embedded hardware projectsfrom prototypes through pilot builds and mass production.

Location: Bangalore (On-site), India

Key Responsibilities:-

• Source SoCs, microcontrollers, PMICs, memory, power and communication ICs, connectors, passives, and electromechanical components.
• Identify and qualify manufacturers, authorized distributors, franchise partners, and reliable suppliers.
• Obtain and compare quotations for prototype quantities and production volumes, including 1K, 10K, 50K, and 100K as applicable.
• Negotiate unit pricing, volume discounts, minimum order quantities, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Analyze BOMs and identify cost-saving opportunities; coordinate with hardware engineering to validate suitable alternate parts.
• Track stock availability, lead times, allocation constraints, lifecycle status, PCNs, EOL notices, and supply risks.
• Expedite samples and urgent purchases; support purchase requisitions, purchase orders, delivery follow-up, and supplier documentation.
• Maintain quotation comparisons, approved-vendor lists, sourcing trackers, cost records, and component traceability information.
• Ensure sourced parts meet required manufacturer part numbers, packages, temperature grades, qualification, and project requirements.

Required Skills:-

• Strong knowledge of electronic components and semiconductor sourcing.
• Experience working with authorized distributors such as Mouser, DigiKey, element14, Arrow, Avnet, or equivalent suppliers.
• Ability to review BOMs, compare quotations, assess lifecycle status, and prepare cost breakdowns.
• Proficiency in Excel for BOM analysis, pricing comparisons, and lead-time tracking.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, follow-up, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills:-

• Automotive electronics sourcing experience and familiarity with AEC-Q100/AEC-Q200, component traceability, and PPAP-related documentation.
• Exposure to NXP, Infineon, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Microchip, Renesas, or similar semiconductor portfolios.
• Experience supporting NPI, prototype procurement, pilot production, and high-volume manufacturing; ERP/MRP knowledge is an advantage.

• Reduction in sourcing-related project delays and effective management of supply risks.
