Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Projects Manager
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, schedule, and manage electrical engineering projects from initiation through completion.
- Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, resource requirements, and timelines.
- Coordinate electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address delays.
- Ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications and client requirements.
2. Electrical Engineering & Technical Management
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Oversee the installation of electrical panels, transformers, switchgear, cabling, and power distribution systems.
- Coordinate with design engineers, consultants, contractors, and technical teams.
- Review equipment selections, material specifications, and technical submittals.
- Resolve technical issues related to electrical systems, installations, and project execution.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare project budgets, cost estimates, and resource plans.
- Monitor project expenditure and control costs against approved budgets.
- Review quotations, vendor proposals, purchase orders, and contractor invoices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Manage variations, additional work, and change orders.
4. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Coordinate procurement of electrical equipment, materials, and components.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and technical compliance.
- Monitor material delivery schedules to ensure timely project execution.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and installation teams.
- Ensure materials meet approved specifications and quality standards.
5. Installation, Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise electrical installation and site execution activities.
- Coordinate inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Ensure proper installation of power distribution, lighting, earthing, and protection systems.
- Review test reports, commissioning records, and inspection documentation.
- Coordinate system handover, defect rectification, and final acceptance.
