DG Technician

Role Description The DG Technician role at H.N. Engineering is a full-time, on-site position based in Jaipur. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing diesel generator systems, including routine inspections, troubleshooting faults, and performing preventive maintenance. Daily tasks include monitoring equipment performance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, replacing parts, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. The role involves documenting service activities, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and coordinating with supervisors and clients to schedule work and minimize downtime. The technician may also assist in testing and commissioning new DG installations, support emergency breakdown calls, and help improve maintenance procedures and practices.
Qualifications

• Solid understanding of diesel generator operation, components, and basic mechanical and electrical principles.
• Experience with installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of DG sets or similar industrial equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and accurately.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, lockout/tagout practices, and safe handling of fuels and electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and clients, and documenting service reports.
• Ability to work on-site in Jaipur, including occasional extended hours or emergency call-outs as required.
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., ITI/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) and prior experience in a similar role are preferred.
