Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished academic leader to head the School of Media Studies, providing strategic direction for academic excellence, research, innovation, and industry collaboration. The candidate will be responsible for strengthening academic programmes, fostering interdisciplinary learning, and preparing students for evolving careers in media and communication.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the School of Media Studies and drive academic excellence.
• Develop and review programmes in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Media, Film Studies, Advertising, and Public Relations.
• Lead curriculum development in alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Promote research, publications, consultancy, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Build strong partnerships with media houses, production studios, advertising agencies, and industry professionals.
• Mentor faculty, support professional development, and strengthen teaching and research outcomes.
• Oversee student engagement, internships, placements, and industry-oriented learning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. in Media Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant academic experience, including substantial leadership experience as Dean, Associate Dean, Professor, or Head of Department.
• Strong academic credentials with a proven record of research publications and institutional development.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, faculty leadership, and academic administration.
• Established industry connections and a strong understanding of the evolving media landscape.
