About the role:

Emergent offers a moonshot opportunity to the best talent looking to work on extraordinary outcomes. We need someone to tell this story to our employees and talent outside. 

This role will shape how the world understands Emergent as a place to work — and you'll own it end to end. Help us our culture, EVP, values and The role is strategic and hands-on in equal measure. You'll work with the founders and leadership team to articulate and champion all components of our culture and employer brand, run a coordinated storytelling program across each stage of the talent lifecycle, while acting as the connective tissue between Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and Communications. You will help take it ‘to market’ - to our internal employees and talent market outside Emergent. 

What will you do?

Work shoulder to shoulder with the founders and leadership to articulate what Emergent stands for — our values, our EVP, the things that genuinely make working here different — and then champion it everywhere.

Build a storytelling program that runs through every stage of the talent lifecycle, from the first time someone hears our name to the day they're proudly telling a friend to join.

Bring the employer brand to life for our own people and for the talent market beyond Emergent — on social, in person, and in the places candidates actually spend their time.

Keep Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and Communications pulling in one direction, so we feel like the same company whether someone meets us in a job post, a podcast, or their first week on the team.

Draw out the moments and voices inside the company that no outsider could invent, and help employees share them with pride.

From the strategy to the final caption, you'll set the direction and do the work — watching what lands and sharpening as you go

What you should have?

9+ years in employer/talent branding and/or culture articulation and codification

You're a storyteller before anything else. You can take something big and abstract — a mission, a culture — and make a person feel it in a single sentence. You've been doing some version of this for 9+ years, somewhere across employer brand, communications, content, or editorial, and you have the writing to prove it.

You're as comfortable with the thinking as with the doing. You can sit in a room with founders and shape the narrative, then walk out and produce it yourself. You like a blank page and a tight budget more than a big team and a rigid plan, and you reach for AI to move faster without losing the human touch.

You earn trust easily — with executives, with recruiters, with the engineer who would really rather not be on camera. You pay attention to what's working and let the numbers tell you what to make next. And when priorities shift (they will), you stay steady and keep moving.

If you've built an employer brand from scratch, told stories to technical audiences before, worked across a global or distributed team, or actually built something on Emergent yourself.
