Civil Engineer

Whizz HR is looking for a Civil Engineer in Mumbai :

Job Description – Key Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise civil construction works for building, luxury residential, bungalow and commercial projects, from foundation to finishing stage.
• Prepare and verify Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and carry out quantity checking/verification for civil, structural and finishing works.
• Coordinate with MEP consultants and contractors to ensure smooth integration of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services with civil works.
• Liaise and coordinate with Architects, Consultants, Suppliers and Contractors for timely and quality project execution.
• Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPR) along with weekly/monthly progress reports to management.
• Monitor project schedules and timelines, flag deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to approved drawings, specifications and safety norms at site.
• Handle material planning, procurement follow-up, and verification of vendor/contractor RA bills and measurements.
• Attend site and client meetings, prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM) and track action points to closure.
• Resolve on-site execution issues and design-vs-site discrepancies in coordination with the design team.
• Guide and supervise junior engineers, site supervisors and support staff.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Relevant Diploma with equivalent experience may also be considered.
• Experience: 8 – 10 years in civil construction, particularly residential, bungalow and commercial building projects.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, for client/consultant correspondence and reporting.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of Project Management Software, such as MS Project / Primavera.
• Sound knowledge of BBS and BOQ preparation, including quantity checking and verification.
• Well-versed with MEP coordination and site-level integration.
• Strong coordination and communication skills for working with architects, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
• Ability to independently prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reading/reviewing drawings will be an added advantage.
• Awareness of applicable safety norms, quality standards and IS codes.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and site-management skills.
• Willingness to be based at the project site in Worli, Mumbai, as required.
