Chief Investment Officer - AIF/PMS - Banking/Financial Services

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the investment philosophy, driving fundraising efforts, and managing high-performing portfolios for HNIs and institutional investors.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Investment Leadership:

- Lead the investment strategy across AIF and PMS platforms, with a strong focus on equity markets (listed and unlisted).

- Develop a cohesive and forward-looking investment framework aligned with global best practices and domestic market dynamics.

AIF Fundraising & Management:

- Spearhead the fundraising strategy for AIFs, engaging with HNIs, family offices, and institutional investors to raise and deploy capital effectively.

- Build and scale equity-oriented AIFs with differentiated investment theses, supported by strong research and governance frameworks.

Portfolio Oversight & Alpha Generation:

- Oversee the construction, rebalancing, and performance monitoring of diversified AIF and PMS portfolios.

- Ensure robust risk-adjusted returns and sustained outperformance through a combination of fundamental and quantitative research.

Research & Market Intelligence:

- Drive deep-dive macroeconomic, sectoral, and security-level research to uncover high-conviction investment ideas.

- Stay ahead of market trends and global developments to proactively manage asset allocation and risk exposures.

Risk & Governance Frameworks:

- Establish and maintain comprehensive risk management frameworks, ensuring portfolio resilience in volatile markets.

- Ensure full regulatory compliance in line with SEBI guidelines for AIF and PMS operations.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

- Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders through transparent communication and regular performance reviews.

- Represent the investment team in client meetings, board discussions, and industry forums.

Product Innovation:

- Conceptualize and launch innovative investment products tailored to diverse investor needs, especially in alternative and structured equity investments.

- Continuously evolve the investment platform to remain competitive in a rapidly changing financial ecosystem.

Key Requirements:

- Experience: Minimum 15 years in fund management, with substantial experience in raising and managing equity-focused AIFs and PMS portfolios.

- Book Size Managed: Minimum 600 Crores of active Assets Under Management (AUM).

- Qualification: MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent finance-related education.

- Technical Expertise: Strong command of equity and debt markets, structured products, derivatives, and alternative investment strategies.

- Regulatory Acumen: In-depth understanding of SEBI regulations pertaining to AIFs (Categories I, II, and III) and PMS.

- Leadership: Proven ability to lead high-performing investment teams and collaborate with business stakeholders.

- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Demonstrated success in raising capital for AIFs, especially in equity strategies.

- Consistent track record of alpha generation over market cycles.

- Experience in managing both listed equities and private market investments.

- Deep network within the HNI and institutional investor community.
