About this role
About the opportunity
We are hiring a Chief Growth Officer (Corporate Expansion) for a large, well-established Indian manufacturing group with multiple plants across India. The group is on an ambitious growth path and is looking for a seasoned business leader to own the expansion agenda end-to-end. The role reports directly to the Promoter and has strong succession path to CEO role.
Key responsibilities
Strategic expansion & diversification
- Define and execute the group's long-term domestic expansion strategy across new geographies and business segments
- Identify, evaluate, and present high-return industrial diversification and investment opportunities to the Board
- Conduct deep feasibility studies, market mapping, and business modelling for new growth opportunities
Greenfield & brownfield execution
- Lead large-scale greenfield and brownfield capital investments from concept through commissioning
- Oversee plant construction, facility setup, and production asset commissioning on schedule and within budget
- Recruit and build operational leadership teams for new facilities and ventures
Commercial excellence & value creation
- Drive ROCE and EBITDA generation for new ventures with clear milestones for profitability and market penetration
- Establish strategic partnerships and joint ventures to accelerate growth
- Scale new business units to long-term, self-sustaining profitability
Board & promoter partnering
- Serve as a close strategic partner to the Promoter/CEO on all expansion and capital allocation decisions
- Present investment proposals, feasibility studies, and capital deployment plans to the Board
- Own the five-year growth horizon for the group
Ideal candidate
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate from a top-tier institution; engineering background preferred
- 25+ years of progressive leadership experience in large manufacturing or industrial businesses
- Proven track record of executing large-scale greenfield CapEx projects and scaling multi-plant operations
- Deep expertise in capital budgeting, market entry strategy, JV negotiations, and P&L management for multi-hundred crore business divisions
- Experience working closely with promoters or business-owning families in a large manufacturing context
