Category Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, analytical, and execution-driven Category Manager to drive category growth, business performance, and customer experience at FRND.

This role sits at the intersection of Business, Product, Growth, and Operations. You'll identify growth opportunities, develop category initiatives, solve complex business problems, and drive measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, structured problem-solving, and hands-on execution, with the ability to independently take initiatives from idea to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Category Growth & Business Management

• Drive key business metrics across revenue, conversion, engagement, retention, and overall category performance.
• Identify growth opportunities through consumer insights, category trends, and business performance analysis.
• Execute initiatives across pricing, promotions, offerings, and monetization to improve category growth and profitability.

Category Strategy & Development

• Identify opportunities to develop new offerings, improve existing experiences, and expand category potential.
• Understand consumer needs, market dynamics, and competitive trends to inform category decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Growth, and Operations teams to implement category initiatives and improve customer experience.

Business Analytics & Execution

• Analyze business metrics, user cohorts, conversion funnels, and performance trends to identify actionable opportunities.
• Design and execute experiments, measure outcomes, and implement improvements across business and operational processes.
• Independently drive projects from ideation to execution, leveraging AI tools and automation to improve efficiency and scalability.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 2–5 years of experience in Category Management, Business, Growth, Strategy, Operations, Consulting, or related roles, preferably in consumer internet companies.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Structured thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to translate complex problems into practical solutions.
• Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in Excel and SQL, comfort with data, dashboards, insights, and guesstimates, and effective use of AI tools.
• Business Acumen: Ability to understand consumer needs, identify growth opportunities, and translate insights into measurable outcomes.
• High Ownership & Execution Ability: Comfortable independently driving initiatives, coordinating across teams, and operating in a fast-paced environment.

Note - The FRND team operates six days a week, with the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month as working days.
