Job Summary

As an Import Purchasing Associate, you will support import procurement activities to ensure material availability for production requirements. You will work with overseas suppliers, freight partners, and team members to manage purchase orders, track shipments, and support the smooth flow of imported materials. This is an onsite role based in Kancheepuram, reporting to the Sourcing Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage import purchase orders from creation through final delivery, ensuring material availability.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers, in Denmark and China, to track order confirmations, production status, shipment schedules, and delivery commitments.
• Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and teams to ensure smooth shipment tracking and customs clearance.
• Monitor open purchase orders, maintain import tracking reports, and escalate potential supply risks or shipment delays.
• Update purchase order status and delivery schedules in SAP/ERP systems while preparing regular reports on shipment status, outstanding orders, and expected delivery dates.

The Essentials - You Will Have

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; we consider equivalent relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of import procurement processes, shipping documentation, and logistics coordination.
• Familiarity with SAP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Work onsite and collaborate with teams.

Additional Qualifications

• Monitor supplier delivery performance, lead times, and logistics costs.
• Understanding of market conditions, supply-demand trends, and sourcing practices for industrial or manufacturing environments.
