Role - Business Analyst

Job Purpose

Nest Digital has developed a production management platform for a global leader in the Oil & Gas segment. Nest Digital continues to enhance, develop more capabilities as well as manage the platform for past many years.

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Business Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to work closely with customers, business stakeholders, project managers, UX/UI teams, developers, and QA teams. The candidate will be responsible for understanding business needs, analyzing requirements, translating them into clear functional specifications, and supporting the project team throughout the software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills, good understanding of Agile methodologies, and the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, and requirements.
• Conduct requirement elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Translate business requirements into clear and actionable functional requirements and user stories.
• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to define user journeys, workflows, and functional expectations.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure requirements are correctly understood and implemented.
• Participate in requirement grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and potential impacts associated with requirements.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
• Create process flow diagrams, wireframes, use-case diagrams, and other analysis artifacts where required.
• Support QA teams in developing test scenarios and validating requirements.
• Review and validate delivered functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for requirement clarifications and obtain timely approvals/sign-offs.
• Manage requirement changes and assess their impact on scope, schedule, and effort.
• Maintain requirement traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business users for feedback and issue resolution.
• Prepare demos and presentations for customers and stakeholders when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis and project processes.
  
  

Required Skills

• 3–4 years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Good experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong requirement gathering and analysis skills.
• Experience in preparing BRD, SRS, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Good understanding of UI/UX concepts and user journeys.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Good stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally or similar requirement/project management tools.
• Basic understanding of SQL/database concepts and APIs is desirable.
• Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively with development and QA teams.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in customer-facing projects.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
• Knowledge of API-based applications, web applications, and integrations.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, and system integrations.
• Experience with tools such as Figma, Visio, Draw.io, or similar for workflows and process diagrams.
• Exposure to UAT planning and execution.
• Experience in Oil & Gas domain is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,Electronics Instrumentation
• MBA/PGDM or relevant Business Analysis certification is an added advantage.
