Associate Director - Strategy & Planning

About the role:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Strategy & Planning team, part of our Risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Our Strategy & Planning team is dedicated to driving strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and deliver exceptional value to stakeholders. This role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for supporting and leading Strategy & Planning initiatives across the business.

What you will do:

- Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives that align with Marsh's overall business objectives and drive transformation.

- Own delivery of transformation initiatives across business units and regions, ensuring coordinated execution and effective stakeholder engagement.

- Identify and assess strategic opportunities using analytical frameworks and data-driven insights to inform prioritization and business case development.

- Conduct research and analysis on markets, competitors, industry trends, and other external factors to support strategic decision-making.

- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives and provide regular updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Develop business cases, presentations, and materials that showcase strategic priorities for executive-level audiences.

- Support the translation of strategic priorities into actionable implementation plans, helping teams remove blockers and sustain momentum through delivery.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with business and operational leaders and other key stakeholders across strategic initiatives.

- Collaborate with Planning colleagues and relevant stakeholders to support progress on specific tasks and assignments as needed.

What you need to have:

- 8+ years of experience in strategy development and business planning, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry; management consulting experience preferred.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.

- Strong financial acumen and ability to develop business cases, assess value creation, and support P&L considerations.

- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Advanced skills in project management tools, data analysis, and business intelligence platforms.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to senior executive audiences.

- Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation development skills.

- Exceptional Excel and financial analysis skills.
