As Associate Director - Cardiometabolic Medical, you will lead the Medical Affairs and Medical Education strategic plans for your affiliate in International Operations - and make sure they deliver. You will turn medical strategy into action, from medical events and local clinical trials to publications and new product launches, keeping medical and marketing aligned. Your scientific leadership will help bring credible evidence and education to the healthcare professionals who support people living with cardiometabolic diseases.

What you'll bring

You are a medical doctor with deep industry experience, ready to lead medical strategy and act as the scientific voice of the affiliate.

• A medical degree - you are a qualified medical doctor.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience planning and executing medical affairs and medical education activities in line with a wider strategy.
• A solid understanding of clinical trials and observational studies, including protocol development and acting as medical expert during trial execution.
• Experience working within quality systems, procedures and compliance frameworks.
• The ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions across functions, including where you do not have direct authority.
• Experience or exposure across therapeutic areas, including cardiometabolic diseases, endocrinology, gastroenterology, obesity, and related areas.

Useful, but not essential:

• Experience supporting new product launches with local medical activities.

What you'll do

You will own the delivery of medical strategy for the affiliate, making sure it is aligned with International Operations priorities and the scientific needs of the business.

• Lead and execute the Medical Affairs and Medical Education strategic plans, ensuring they align with the International Operations strategy and are delivered as planned - including all annual processes in your area.
• Plan and deliver medical events in line with strategy, and support medico-marketing initiatives across the affiliate.
• Lead medical affairs meetings and take part in medical and marketing working groups, so that medical activities stay aligned across the affiliate and between functions.
• Support new product launches by proposing and initiating local medical activities such as local clinical trials, publications and symposia002E
• Support local clinical trials and observational studies by shaping trial design, facilitating local protocols and acting as medical expert during execution, then drive external publication and communication of the results.
• Ensure full compliance with company quality systems and procedures and with regional and global policies - while continuously reviewing and improving how the team works.

Who you'll work with

You will join the Cardiometabolic Medical team in India, where colleagues work across markets to serve people around the world and help improve health at scale.

Around 80% of your interactions will be with internal colleagues. You will contribute to functional team meetings and work closely with marketing and other functions to align plans, share best practices and influence tactical decisions. You will approach colleagues across functions for input on projects, using a working-group approach that keeps work moving with clarity and speed.

The remaining 20% will be with external stakeholders, as you deliver medical education, local studies and scientific communication.
