Assistant General Manager - Module Maintenance

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance:

- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of solar module manufacturing equipment.

- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as cell stringer, layup machines, bussing machines, EL testing machines, laminators, framing machines, junction box fixing machines, Hi-Pot testing equipment, flash testers, inspection equipment, and conveyors.

- Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment availability.

- Identify recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

2. Electrical & Automation Maintenance:

- Troubleshoot electrical panels, sensors, motors, VFDs, PLCs, relays, contactors, and control systems.

- Diagnose PLC and HMI-related issues.

- Handle pneumatic and electro-pneumatic systems.

- Monitor machine parameters and identify abnormal conditions.

- Coordinate with OEM or service engineers for complex equipment issues.

3. Preventive Maintenance:

- Prepare and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance schedules.

- Maintain maintenance checklists and equipment history.

- Monitor critical spare parts and ensure availability.

- Analyze breakdown trends and implement preventive measures.

4. Production Support:

- Provide immediate technical support during production breakdowns.

- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to resolve machine-related issues.

- Support new machine installation, commissioning, and qualification.

- Assist in improving machine productivity, OEE, and line efficiency.

5. Safety & Compliance:

- Follow all EHS and electrical safety procedures.

- Ensure proper LOTO practices during maintenance activities.

- Conduct regular safety inspections of machines and electrical systems.

- Ensure maintenance activities comply with plant safety standards.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain breakdown reports and preventive maintenance records.

- Track MTBF, MTTR, and machine availability.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.

- Maintain spare-parts inventory and consumption records.

- Document root-cause analysis and corrective or preventive actions.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems.

- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, and industrial control systems.

- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance.

- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work under production pressure and meet breakdown response targets.

- Good coordination and communication skills.

Educational Qualification:

- Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics/Automation Engineering.

Experience:

- 2 - 6 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.

- Experience in Solar PV Module Manufacturing will be preferred.

- Candidates with experience in automated production lines, electrical maintenance, or PLC-based systems can also be considered.
