ASR & Transcription Specialist (3 MONTH CONTRACT)

Our clients span media, legal, healthcare, and customer experience verticals—relying on our remote specialists to deliver accurate, context-aware speech-to-text outputs at enterprise scale.

Role & Responsibilities

• Transcribe audio/video content with 98%+ accuracy across multiple domains including legal, healthcare, and customer service.
• Train and fine-tune ASR models using domain-specific datasets to improve recognition of accents, jargon, and low-resource languages.
• Tag and annotate speech data for model training, including speaker diarization, emotion cues, and acoustic event markers.
• Validate ASR output against ground truth transcripts and log edge cases for model retraining cycles.
• Collaborate with NLP engineers to define transcription guidelines and optimize output formatting for downstream applications.
• Work asynchronously across time zones to meet daily SLAs for high-volume transcription and model feedback cycles.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Must-Have
• Proficient in English transcription with strong grammar and punctuation discipline
• Experience with ASR tools like Whisper, Kaldi, or Mozilla DeepSpeech
• Ability to handle audio in noisy or accented speech environments
• Familiarity with transcription formatting standards (e.g. verbatim vs. clean read)
• Comfort with annotation tools like Label Studio or Prodigy
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Preferred
• Basic understanding of phonetics or linguistic annotation
• Experience transcribing medical, legal, or technical content
• Knowledge of Python or SQL for simple data manipulation tasks
