API Automation Tester

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and execute API automation test scripts using Java and REST Assured to ensure high-quality software releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and create test plans, test cases, and test data for REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain reusable automation frameworks using TestNG, Cucumber BDD, and Maven.
• Perform request/response validation, status code validation, schema validation, authentication testing, and API chaining.
• Create and maintain dynamic request payloads using POJO, JSON, HashMap, and Collections.
• Integrate automation suites with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and Git repositories for continuous testing.
• Execute regression, integration, and end-to-end API test suites and provide detailed test reports.
• Troubleshoot issues related to API automation testing and provide timely resolutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, defect triage, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements :

• 5–8 years of experience in API Automation Testing with a strong background in Core Java.
• Hands-on experience with REST Assured for building robust API automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of RequestSpecification, ResponseSpecification, API Chaining, Serialization, and Deserialization.
• Experience validating REST APIs, JSON payloads, HTTP status codes, headers, authentication (OAuth/JWT), and schema validation.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven, Jenkins, Postman, JSON, and POJO (Plain Old Java Object).
• Experience working in Agile projects using TestNG and Cucumber BDD frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Java Collections (HashMap, List, ArrayList) and OOP concepts.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver for UI automation is preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL and backend data validation is an added advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
