Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Aircraft Maintenance Technician to support aircraft inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities at Tambaram Air Force Base, Chennai.

The ideal candidate should have 1–2 years of relevant maintenance experience, basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, and the ability to work safely in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-flight, post-flight, turnaround, and last-flying inspections.
• Inspect aircraft for wear, corrosion, defects, damage, and potential safety hazards.
• Carry out routine aircraft maintenance in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and approved procedures.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify technical defects within authorized limits.
• Maintain accurate aircraft maintenance records, logbooks, and technical documentation.
• Dismantle, repair, assemble, replace, and test aircraft components as applicable.
• Perform maintenance on components such as wheel units, bulbs, fuses, and selected avionics modules.
• Carry out 50-hour, 100-hour, and 200-hour scheduled servicing.
• Perform pre- and post-maintenance system checks.
• Assist with or conduct engine test runs as authorized.
• Perform out-of-phase component servicing and replacement as per maintenance schedules.
• Follow all applicable aircraft safety, maintenance, quality, and operational procedures.
• Report aircraft defects and maintenance findings accurately to the concerned supervisor/authorized personnel.

Candidate Requirements

• ITI – Fitter / Electrician or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical or a relevant discipline.
• 1–2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance, inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and defect rectification.
• Familiarity with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and technical documentation is preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or avionics systems.
• Ability to identify defects, follow maintenance procedures, and maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to work at Tambaram Air Force Base, Chennai.
• Good safety awareness and attention to detail.
