1) Job Purpose

-Handling Shift activity to achieve budgeted production of Gold, Silver, Selenium, PGM from de-copperised anode slime, within stipulated purity range, budgeted cost and time frame through a multi-stage recovery process with respect to the assigned shift in the Precious Metal Recovery Plant.

- To implement compliance of SOPs as well as guidelines with respect to quality, safety, health, environment, hygiene during the assigned shift.

2) Job Context:

Birla Copper at Dahej is a copper smelting operation with associated process plants setup to add value in its byproducts. The Precious metal Recovery Plant is the only primary gold and silver producing plant in India. This role is responsible for assisting in targeted production of gold, silver, selenium, PGM through efficient operations of the Precious Metal Recovery Plant during the assigned shift. Pure metal is recovered from the de-copperised anode slime generated from the refinery and is sold in the domestic and international markets after due processing. It also involves monitoring implementation of maintenance and housekeeping. The key aspect of this role involves deployment of optimum resources and monitoring their efficiencies to generate optimum output during the assigned shift. It involves implementation of SOPs and guidelines with respect to health, safety, environment and quality systems. It involves reporting production figures and safety incidents during assigned shifts. It involves sampling of high value WIP at various stages of the process during the assigned shift Job Challenges: - Liquidation of high value WIP as recovery is sensitive to profitability - Alertness to security and safety concerns - Keeping people motivated in spite of lack of ambient condition and space constraint in the plant, occupational health hazards and need for continuous frisking.
