Role Description The Academic Counsellor is a full-time hybrid role based in Kolkata, with the flexibility to perform some responsibilities from home. The role involves guiding prospective learners and their families through academic programs, admission processes, and career pathways, ensuring they receive clear and accurate information about NU's offerings. The Academic Counsellor will conduct counselling sessions (in person, over phone, and online), respond to inquiries, and maintain detailed records of interactions. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with academic and administrative teams, supporting outreach events and information sessions, and preparing reports and presentations related to student guidance and admissions. The role requires consistent collaboration, proactive communication, learner-centric approach and school outreach if required.

Qualifications
Strong counselling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand learner needs and provide clear, unbiased guidance.

• Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written), with the ability to explain academic programs and policies clearly to diverse audiences.
• Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills to interact effectively with learners, families, faculty, and administrative staff.
• Organizational and time-management skills, including accurate documentation, follow-up, and handling multiple enquiries and tasks.
• Comfort with technology-enabled communication tools, CRM or student information systems, and common office productivity software.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address queries, resolve concerns, and support data-driven decision-making in admissions and counselling.
• Demonstrated commitment to learner success, ethical conduct, inclusivity, and continuous professional development.
