Workday Product Owner

Product Owner – Workday Role Objective Own the functional product vision and backlog during Workday implementations, ensuring business requirements are translated into deployable, scalable solutions aligned with implementation timelines.

Key Responsibilities Act as the functional owner during implementation lifecycle: Discovery Design Build Test Deploy Drive design decisions aligned with Workday best practices (avoid over-customization) Partner with: Functional consultants Integration teams Client stakeholders Lead design workshops and solution validation sessions Ensure readiness for: Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) UAT cycles Go-live Manage scope, prioritize features, and control scope creep during implementation Act as escalation point for functional decisions during deployment Required Experience 7–12+ years in Workday ecosystem Minimum 2–3 full lifecycle implementations (must-have) At least 2+ years with a Workday partner Strong functional expertise in one or more: Payroll Absence Time Tracking Financials Proven experience in Agile or hybrid implementation models Certified in the modules and willing to transfer the certifications. Strong understanding of: Workday configuration vs customization boundaries Implementation accelerators and templates What Sets a Strong Candidate Apart Has led CRPs and design authority discussions Can push back on non-standard client requirements Experience managing multi-country or large-scale implementations
