Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY The WMS Business Analyst is responsible for supporting our manufacturing and distribution organization by understanding initiatives and general business needs, articulating business cases and requirements, and translating business requirements in an agile environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Partner with Product Owners and other key stakeholders to understand business goals and help identify IT solutions
- Works directly with business development teams during project envisioning/inception to devise best solutions and reasonable, accurate time/cost estimates for each project.
- Use knowledge of systems and their use to guide changes, look for opportunities to take advantage of existing or in progress projects to improve user experience
- Create current and future state process maps
- Translate business requirements to technical team and ensure business requirements are met within the technical specification.
- Thoroughly documents application development best practices, standards, and processes.
- Contributes to Functional and Technical application design. Reviews/establishes “best practices” processes and use case design/reviews. Maintains ability to document and read functional specifications
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions/provide recommendations based on the same
- JDA/BY WMS Functional knowledge (Configurations / Screens / RF functions)
- Helps to define and implement applications development best practices, standards, and processes
- Good knowledge on warehouse operations and aware of integrations to the WMS system
- Good knowledge on WMS issues Trace profiling / Troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to handle business critical priority issues independently, able to work and communicate with cross functional teams effectively.
- Minor Developments – Aware of DevOps functions Some UX/design for new forms, reports, etc
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. On-call responsibilities 2. Self-manages workload and assignments within application development team that delivers projects/tasks through a software development life cycle, with eye toward project timelines and utilization 3. Performs additional duties as directed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline or business required
- Experience within a manufacturing/distribution environment in an IT development capacity
- Familiar with a variety of sales methodologies, tools, and frameworks from multiple industries / businesses.
- Min of 3 years experience working with users to define solutions (Blue Yonder experience a plus)
- High energy, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse remote teams, managing through a matrix structure, and will require strong analytical skills, process & project management, combined with well-developed team leadership and influencing skills.
- Agile methodology experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including preparation and delivery of executive-level presentations
- Proven analytical, problem-solving and process management skills
- Demonstrated tendency to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement in process and ability to achieve organizational goals
