Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Windows & VMware Security Administrator to join our Infrastructure Security team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage, coordinate, and execute security patching and vulnerability remediation activities across Microsoft and VMware environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Windows Server administration, endpoint management, VMware infrastructure, and enterprise patch management processes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the organization's security posture by ensuring timely deployment of security updates, minimizing vulnerabilities, and supporting compliance requirements across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities Security Patching & Vulnerability Management
- Plan, schedule, test, and deploy security patches across Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
- Manage monthly Microsoft Patch Tuesday activities and emergency security patch deployments.
- Perform vulnerability remediation based on findings from vulnerability management tools and security assessments.
- Analyze security bulletins, CVEs, and vendor advisories to determine impact and remediation strategies.
- Track patch compliance metrics and generate remediation reports for management and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with Security Operations, Infrastructure, and Application teams to resolve vulnerabilities within SLA timelines.
Windows Infrastructure Administration
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022 and later versions).
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Microsoft infrastructure services.
- Troubleshoot patch deployment failures and operating system-related issues.
- Support server hardening and security baseline implementation following industry best practices.
Endpoint Management
- Manage enterprise endpoint patching using Microsoft endpoint management solutions.
- Deploy operating system updates, security fixes, and software updates across desktop environments.
- Monitor patch deployment status and remediate failed installations.
VMware Security Administration
- Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter environments.
- Perform VMware ESXi patching, upgrades, and security remediation activities.
- Monitor VMware security advisories and implement required updates.
- Support virtual infrastructure hardening and compliance initiatives.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain patching documentation, procedures, and change records.
- Participate in audits and provide evidence of patch compliance and remediation activities.
- Prepare operational and executive-level security compliance reports.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills
- Strong experience administering Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft security patch management and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with enterprise patch management solutions such as:
- Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)
- Microsoft Intune
- Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
- Experience using vulnerability management tools such as:
- Tenable Nessus
- Qualys
- Rapid7 InsightVM
- Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management
- Knowledge of Windows security hardening standards and CIS benchmarks.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration, Infrastructure Security, or Patch Management roles.
- Relevant certifications are preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Security Certifications
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA Security+
- CISSP (Preferred)
