Welding Engineer - Cross Country Pipeline

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Welding Engineer with strong expertise in welding engineering, procedures, qualifications, fabrication, and quality control for major Oil & Gas / EPC projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, review and approve Welding Procedures (WPS), PQR and WPQ/WPQ documentation
• Ensure welding activities comply with project specifications, approved procedures and applicable international codes
• Review welding consumables, materials, PWHT requirements and welding parameters
• Provide technical support for welding, fabrication, piping and structural activities
• Monitor welder qualification and performance
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Production, Construction, Client and Third-Party Inspection teams
• Investigate welding defects and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Review NDT reports and coordinate with NDT personnel where required
• Support resolution of NCRs, technical queries and welding-related issues
• Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, API, AWS and ISO standards
• Prepare welding reports, technical documentation and project deliverables
• Participate in client meetings, inspections and project quality reviews

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Welding Engineering
8+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / EPC / Fabrication projects
Strong knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ, Welder Qualification and Welding Consumables
Experience in piping, pressure vessels, structural steel and/or pipeline welding
Good knowledge of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3/B31.4/B31.8, API and AWS standards
Experience in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW/FCAW and SAW processes
Knowledge of PWHT, heat treatment and welding metallurgy
Experience in reviewing NDT results and welding defects

CSWIP / AWS / IWE / IWT certification will be an added advantage
Oil & Gas / ADNOC / Aramco / major EPC project experience preferred
Strong technical, coordination and reporting skills
