WebLogic Administrator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced WebLogic Administrator (L2) to manage, support, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments. The candidate will be responsible for application server administration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, deployments, and ensuring high availability of the middleware environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments.
• Perform L2 support for WebLogic-related incidents, service requests, and operational issues.
• Manage WebLogic domains, Admin Servers, Managed Servers, clusters, and Node Managers.
• Perform application deployments, configuration changes, server restarts, and patching activities.
• Monitor WebLogic server health, JVM performance, logs, threads, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot application deployment, connectivity, JVM, server startup/shutdown, and performance issues.
• Configure and manage WebLogic Clusters and high-availability environments.
• Perform JVM tuning, heap analysis, thread-dump analysis, and basic performance troubleshooting.
• Configure and troubleshoot JDBC Data Sources, Connection Pools, JMS, and related middleware components.
• Manage SSL certificates, keystores, and secure WebLogic configurations.
• Analyze WebLogic logs and coordinate with application, database, network, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution.
• Perform regular health checks and ensure middleware services are available as per defined SLAs.
• Support WebLogic upgrades, patching, migration, and environment refresh activities.
• Prepare and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Provide support during planned maintenance, deployments, and production releases.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of experience in Oracle WebLogic Server administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with WebLogic Server 12c/14c.
• Good understanding of WebLogic architecture, domains, clusters, Managed Servers, Admin Server, and Node Manager.
• Experience in application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of JVM, Java application server concepts, heap, threads, and garbage collection.
• Hands-on experience with JDBC, JMS, and connection pools.
• Experience with SSL/TLS, certificates, keystores, and security configuration.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting production WebLogic environments.
• Good understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.

Good to Have

• Experience with Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) or Apache.
• Knowledge of Oracle SOA Suite / Oracle Fusion Middleware.
• Experience with WebLogic automation and scripting using WLST.
• Exposure to Ansible or other automation tools.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS/Azure/OCI.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, or similar.
• Exposure to WebLogic migration, upgrades, and disaster recovery/HA environments.
