Shopify Developer - Liquid & D2C Ecommerce

Full-time · Remote · India

About the Role

Nolox is looking for a Shopify Developer who can take a website from Figma design to a fully functional, production-ready Shopify store.

You should be strong in Shopify Liquid, theme development, frontend development, ecommerce functionality, and third-party integrations.

You'll work closely with our UI/UX Designers, Brand Designers, and Creative Directors to build premium ecommerce experiences for D2C brands.

You'll own the development process from design handoff → development → integrations → testing → launch → post-launch improvements.

What You'll Do

• Convert Figma designs into pixel-accurate Shopify stores
• Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid
• Develop custom sections, blocks, templates, and reusable components
• Work with Shopify Online Store 2.0
• Build responsive experiences across desktop and mobile
• Develop custom product, collection, landing page, cart, and storefront experiences
• Implement product variants, filters, search, recommendations, and merchandising features
• Install, configure, and integrate Shopify apps based on project requirements
• Integrate reviews, subscriptions, upsells, email marketing, analytics, shipping, payments, and other ecommerce tools
• Implement tracking such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and other marketing tools
• Optimize stores for performance, SEO, responsiveness, and accessibility
• Test across browsers, devices, and screen sizes
• Troubleshoot frontend, theme, app, and integration issues
• Take stores from development to live production
• Maintain and improve stores after launch

Shopify Plus experience is a strong advantage.

D2C & Ecommerce Understanding

You should understand how a modern D2C store works beyond just the code.

You should be comfortable with:

• Product discovery and merchandising
• Product recommendations
• Reviews and social proof
• Upsells and cross-sells
• Discounts and promotional campaigns
• Subscription products
• Email and marketing integrations
• Customer accounts
• Shipping and returns
• Analytics and conversion tracking
• Mobile-first ecommerce

You should understand that performance, usability, conversion, and design quality all matter.

Frontend Skills

Strong knowledge of:

• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Liquid
• Responsive web development
• APIs
• Git / GitHub

React or other modern JavaScript frameworks are a plus.

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of professional Shopify development experience
• Strong portfolio of Shopify stores you have personally developed
• Strong knowledge of Liquid and Shopify theme development
• Experience taking designs from Figma to production
• Strong frontend development skills
• Good understanding of ecommerce UX
• Strong attention to detail and pixel-perfect implementation
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
• Good understanding of performance optimization
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Comfortable working during Indian business hours

You'll Stand Out If You Have

• Experience building premium D2C Shopify stores
• Shopify Plus experience
• Experience building custom themes from scratch
• Experience with Shopify APIs and custom integrations
• Experience with international ecommerce brands
• Understanding of CRO and ecommerce analytics
• Experience optimizing Shopify Core Web Vitals
• Experience with subscriptions and complex product configurations
• Experience working closely with designers
• Experience with headless Shopify / Hydrogen
