Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineer for Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) to manage the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the Waste Heat Recovery System associated with a Ferro Silicon manufacturing plant.
The Engineer will be responsible for maximizing recovery of waste heat generated from the furnaces and ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of the WHR system and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete Waste Heat Recovery System of the Ferro Silicon furnace operations.
- Monitor and optimize recovery of waste heat from furnace exhaust gases.
- Supervise installation, commissioning and performance testing of WHR equipment.
- Ensure proper operation of waste heat boilers, heat exchangers, ducts, fans, dampers, pumps, cooling systems and associated auxiliaries.
- Monitor operating parameters such as flue gas temperature, pressure, flow, steam generation and heat recovery efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for WHR equipment.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain documentation including SOPs, maintenance records, inspection reports and equipment history.
- Support commissioning, trial runs, performance guarantee tests and stabilization of the WHR system.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on safe and efficient operation of the system.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery Systems and industrial heat recovery applications.
- Experience with waste heat boilers / heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), heat exchangers and associated auxiliaries.
- Knowledge of steam generation, thermodynamics, heat transfer and energy balance.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems used in WHR plants.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety and pressure equipment safety.
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in any of the following industries will be preferred:
Ferro Silicon / Ferro Alloys, Silicon Metal, Steel, Cement,
Metallurgical Plants, Sponge Iron / DRI, Power Plants, Other high-temperature process industries with waste heat recovery systems
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Thermal Engineering / Power Engineering.
Experience
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in Waste Heat Recovery, Thermal Systems, Power & Utilities or high-temperature industrial process plants.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in Ferro Alloy/Ferro Silicon furnace WHR systems will be preferred.
