Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and validate 1D acoustic and gas dynamic models using Ricardo WAVE.
• Perform simulation of exhaust, aftertreatment, muffler, silencer, and resonator systems.
• Predict and optimize Sound Pressure Level (SPL), Transmission Loss (TL), Insertion Loss (IL), pressure pulsations, and exhaust backpressure.
• Conduct model calibration, validation, solver setup, debugging, and correlation with test data.
• Work with Design, CFD, Testing, and NVH teams to achieve vehicle performance targets.
• Optimize muffler and resonator geometry to meet acoustic and flow requirements.
• Generate simulation reports and provide engineering recommendations.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 3-8 years of experience in Ricardo WAVE / GT-SUITE 1D simulation.
• Experience in automotive exhaust and aftertreatment systems.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and gas dynamics.
• Experience in SPL, TL, IL, backpressure, and pressure pulsation analysis.
• Hands-on experience in model validation and calibration using test data.
• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers preferred.
