Role Summary:

Infosys BPM is Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchant Risk Analyst to support its client; the role is responsible for managing merchant applications and monitoring the ongoing risk exposure of existing merchants. The role focuses on protecting the organization from financial losses by conducting thorough merchant due diligence, evaluating merchant business models, identifying all merchant onboarding and monitoring activities adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct merchant due diligence, background checks, and risk assessments.
• Review credit reports, financial statements, and transaction histories.
• Monitor merchant transactions for fraud, chargebacks, and unusual activity.
• Recommend merchant approvals, limits, reserves, or risk mitigation measures.
• Investigate fraud cases, policy breaches, and risk-related incidents.
• Collaborate with Sales, Onboarding, Banking Partners, and Merchants.
• Ensure adherence to risk, compliance, and underwriting standards.
• Prepare risk reports and escalate high-risk cases when necessary.

Knowledge & Skills Preferred:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Knowledge of payments, e-commerce, fraud prevention, and credit risk.
• Ability to analyze financial and transactional data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and risk monitoring tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Business Performance:

• Accuracy and quality of risk assessments.
• Reduction in fraud losses and chargeback rates.
• Timely completion of merchant reviews and investigations.
• Compliance with risk policies and regulatory requirements.
• Effective identification and mitigation of merchant risks.

• Maintain positive relationships with merchants and business partners.
• Communicate risk decisions and compliance requirements clearly.
• Support merchants through risk reviews and remediation activities.
• Balance customer experience with risk and compliance objectives.

Educational / Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• Experience in Risk Analysis, Fraud Prevention, Credit Risk, Compliance, or Financial Services.
• Preferred experience in Payments, FinTech, Banking, or E-commerce industries.
• Relevant certifications in Risk Management, Fraud, AML, or Compliance are advantageous.
