Service Engineer - Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and technically inclined Fresher's to join our Service Engineering team. The Service Engineer will be trained in the installation, commissioning, servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of Fiber Laser, Laser Engraving & Cutting, and Digital, Solvent, Eco-Solvent & UV Printing Machines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

• Assist senior engineers in installation, configuration, commissioning, and testing of machines.
• Learn machine setup and operation as per technical specifications.
• Assist in machine demonstrations and basic operator training.

2. Service & Preventive Maintenance

• Assist in scheduled preventive maintenance of machines.
• Support senior engineers in breakdown service and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software-related issues under supervision.
• Assist in machine calibration, alignment, testing, and performance checks.
• Learn machine operation and basic troubleshooting procedures.

3. Technical Support

• Provide basic technical support to customers under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist in identifying and resolving machine-related issues.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior engineers or the technical team.
• Develop practical knowledge of machine systems, controls, electronics, and software.

4. Digital Printing Support

• Learn servicing and operation of Digital, Solvent, Eco-Solvent, and UV Printing Machines.
• Assist in calibration, color management, print-quality checks, and machine settings.
• Support troubleshooting of printing and operational issues.

5. Customer Handling

• Maintain professional communication with customers.
• Assist senior engineers during customer visits and service activities.
• Understand customer requirements and ensure proper communication of technical issues.
• Learn machine operation, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance practices.

6. Service Documentation

• Prepare service reports, job cards, installation reports, and maintenance records.
• Update service-related information in the CRM/service software.
• Maintain records of service activities, spare parts, and corrective actions.
• Report technical observations and recurring issues to senior engineers.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic technical knowledge of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering concepts.
• Good understanding of electrical/electronic components and basic troubleshooting.
• Willingness to learn industrial machinery and technical systems.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers and software applications.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to work in the field.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Education

• Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Other relevant engineering disciplines

Experience

• Fresher's - 01 year experience.
• Candidates with internship or academic project experience in industrial machinery, electronics, electrical systems, robotics, CNC, laser technology, or digital printing will be preferred.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to travel extensively for installation and service assignments.
• Valid driving license will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to work at customer sites and learn through practical exposure.
• Strong learning attitude and commitment to developing technical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle service assignments responsibly.
