Role & responsibilities

• Review and dispense prescriptions accurately.
• Check medication dosages, interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Counsel patients on how to take medications correctly, including possible side effects and precautions.
• Provide information and advice about prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
• Maintain accurate patient and medication records.
• Manage medication inventory, storage, and expiration dates.
• Follow pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Monitor patients' medication therapy and identify potential drug-related problems.
• Depending on the setting and local regulations, provide services such as vaccinations, health screenings, and medication-management consultations.
