PPC Executive / Senior Executive Home Textiles

Reporting To: PPC Manager / Head – PPC

1. Job Purpose

To effectively plan, schedule, monitor and control production activities to ensure on-time delivery, optimum capacity utilization, minimum production delays and effective coordination across departments, in line with customer requirements and business priorities.

2. Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
• Plan production considering machine capacity, manpower, raw material availability and process lead time.
• Monitor order-wise production status from weaving/knitting through processing, dyeing, printing, finishing and made-ups, as applicable.
• Ensure production plans are aligned with shipment and customer delivery commitments.
• Identify capacity constraints and take timely corrective actions.

Order & Material Planning

• Review customer orders, specifications, quantities and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores and Sourcing teams to ensure timely availability of yarn, fabric, dyes, chemicals, packing materials and other inputs.
• Track material availability against the production plan.
• Highlight shortages, delays and potential delivery risks to the concerned stakeholders.

Production Monitoring

• Monitor actual production against planned quantities on a daily basis.
• Analyze production variances and identify reasons for delays or shortfalls.
• Follow up with production teams for pending orders and recovery plans.
• Monitor WIP and ensure smooth movement of materials between processes.
• Escalate critical bottlenecks affecting delivery commitments.

Capacity & Scheduling

• Prepare machine/process-wise loading plans.
• Optimize machine utilization and production sequence.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality and other functions to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Reschedule production plans based on breakdowns, quality issues, urgent orders or changes in customer requirements.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly PPC reports and production dashboards.
• Track key parameters such as:
• Plan vs. Actual Production
• Order Status
• WIP
• Machine Utilization
• Capacity Loading
• Production Efficiency
• On-Time Delivery
• Pending Orders
• Material Availability
• Maintain accurate production planning and order tracking records.
• Provide timely updates to management on critical orders and delivery risks.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

Ensure effective communication and timely resolution of production and delivery-related issues.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good proficiency in MS Excel – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
• Ability to prepare and interpret production MIS and dashboards.

5. Qualification

Essential:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering or a relevant discipline.

Preferred:

• Experience in home textiles, made-ups, weaving, processing, dyeing, printing or garment/textile manufacturing.

6. Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in PPC / Production Planning, preferably in the home textile or textile manufacturing industry.

Candidates with exposure to export-oriented home textile manufacturing and customer order-based production planning will be preferred.

7. Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be data-driven, proactive and strong in follow-up, with the ability to connect customer requirements with shop-floor execution. The candidate should be comfortable working with multiple departments and taking quick decisions when production priorities change.
