Walk-in || Polysomnography Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct overnight polysomnography (PSG) and other sleep studies as prescribed.
• Prepare patients for sleep studies and explain the procedure.
• Apply and calibrate electrodes, sensors, and monitoring equipment.
• Monitor and record physiological parameters, including EEG, ECG, oxygen saturation, respiratory effort, airflow, and body movements, as applicable.
• Perform and assist with CPAP/BiPAP titration studies as per departmental protocols and competency.
• Monitor patients throughout the study and respond appropriately to technical issues or patient concerns.
• Ensure accurate data acquisition, signal quality, documentation, and timely preparation of study records.
• Identify recording artefacts and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate sleep laboratory equipment as required.
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and departmental protocols.
• Coordinate with pulmonologists and other clinical staff for patient care and reporting.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital quality standards.

Job Specification

Qualification:

• B.Sc. in Respiratory Therapy, Neurophysiology, Allied Health Sciences, or a relevant field.
• Diploma or certification in Sleep Technology / Polysomnography is preferred.

Experience:

• Freshers with relevant qualifications or clinical training may apply.
• Experience in a sleep laboratory, respiratory care, or polysomnography is preferred.

Required Skills:

• Basic knowledge of sleep disorders and sleep study procedures.
• Familiarity with polysomnography equipment and physiological monitoring.
• Good observation, technical troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Patient-handling, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts, as sleep studies are commonly conducted at night.
