Key Job Roles & Responsibilities

• Specimen Collection: Perform venipuncture, fingersticks, and heel sticks safely and accurately.
• Patient Care: Greet patients, explain procedures, answer questions, and put them at ease.
• Documentation: Properly label, process, and track specimens to ensure, with 70% of medical decisions relying on lab results, that data remains accurate.
• Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a sterile, safe environment by adhering to infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols.
• Equipment Management: Clean, maintain, and organize lab instruments and supplies
• Sample Collection: Perform venous and capillary blood collection (phlebotomy) on adults, children, and neonates following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Patient Identification & Safety: Verify patient identity, ensure labeling accuracy, and follow infection control protocols.
• Sample Management: Handle sample collection, processing, and ensure timely transport to the laboratory, including logging data accurately.
• Customer Service: Provide professional, compassionate care during home visits and maintain confidentiality.
• Transportation: Travel to designated patient locations (home/field) to collect samples, often requiring a vehicle.

Key Requirements

• Qualification: Certificate in Phlebotomy, DMLT, or equivalent medical laboratory training.
• Experience: 0-2+ years in phlebotomy or home sample collection preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, strong communication, ability to work independently, and attention to detail.
• Logistics: Valid two-wheeler license and ownership of a bike (for home collection roles).
