Key Responsibilities of an OT Technician

• Prepare the operation theatre before surgeries by cleaning and arranging equipment.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and ensure infection control protocols are followed.
• Check and maintain surgical equipment, machines, and supplies.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during surgical procedures.
• Arrange surgical instruments according to the type of surgery.
• Help position and transfer patients safely before and after surgery.
• Monitor the availability of surgical consumables and maintain inventory.
• Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste according to hospital guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Respond promptly to emergency surgeries and ensure the OT is always ready.
• Inspect equipment for proper functioning and report any faults for repair.
• Follow hospital safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
