Walk-in || Operation Theatre Technician (OT Technician)

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the Operation Theatre (OT) before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgeries.
• Arrange and handle surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques and follow infection-control protocols.
• Perform proper sterilization and disinfection of surgical instruments.
• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, shifting, and transfer.
• Ensure availability and proper functioning of OT equipment.
• Maintain surgical instrument and sponge/gauze counts before and after procedures.
• Handle emergency and trauma OT procedures as required.
• Maintain OT records, checklists, and procedure documentation.
• Follow biomedical waste management and hospital safety protocols.
• Monitor OT inventory and inform seniors about shortages of instruments or consumables.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the OT.
• Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, anesthesia team, and other hospital departments.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with State Medical Facility.
• Relevant experience as an OT Technician in a hospital/healthcare setup preferred.
• Good knowledge of surgical instruments, OT procedures, sterilization, and infection control.
• Knowledge of different types of surgical procedures and OT protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently during emergency and critical situations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Responsible, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Freshers with relevant qualification may also be considered.
