Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Looker Architect to design, develop, and lead enterprise-scale analytics and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Looker, LookML, BigQuery, cloud technologies, and data architecture with the ability to drive end-to-end BI transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable BI and analytics solutions using Looker and Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect and develop semantic data models using LookML.
• Define and implement enterprise data governance, security, access grants, and role-based access controls.
• Build, optimize, and maintain Looker dashboards, reports, explores, and data models.
• Design and manage Aggregate Awareness, Persistent Derived Tables (PDTs), and Derived Tables for high-performance reporting.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead performance tuning and optimization of BigQuery datasets and Looker queries.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies using GitHub Actions and DevOps best practices.
• Develop monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence practices for BI platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineering, cloud, and application teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practices to development teams.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in Business Intelligence and Analytics.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Looker Architecture and Development.
• Strong experience with LookML, Core LookML, Aggregate Awareness, PDTs, and Derived Tables.
• Expertise in Google BigQuery and data warehouse concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Looker security, Access Grants, Roles, and Permissions.
• Experience designing enterprise analytics and reporting solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD implementation.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience working in GCP and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Knowledge of API integrations and modern data platform architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with other BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Knowledge of ReactJS, React Native, and NodeJS.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in retail, e-commerce, or customer analytics domains.
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and platform monitoring concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in GCP, Data Engineering, or Analytics are preferred.
