Walk-in || Live Underwriter / Pre-Underwriter - US Mortgage

Key Responsibilities:

Live Underwriting

• Review and analyze mortgage loan applications.
• Evaluate borrower eligibility based on agency and investor guidelines.
• Assess income, assets, credit, collateral, and overall risk.
• Make credit decisions and provide underwriting conditions.
• Ensure compliance with FHA, VA, Conventional, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Non-QM guidelines.

Pre-Underwriting

• Conduct detailed review of loan files prior to underwriting.
• Calculate and validate:
• Income Calculation
• Debt-to-Income (DTI)
• Loan-to-Value (LTV)
• PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes & Insurance)
• Asset Analysis
• Credit Analysis
• Credit Report Review
• Verify documentation accuracy and identify missing requirements.
• Support underwriting teams in achieving quality and productivity targets.

Required Skills:

• Experience in US Mortgage Underwriting or Pre-Underwriting.
• Strong understanding of:
• Income Calculation
• DTI & LTV Calculation
• Asset Review
• Credit Analysis
• Credit Bureau Reports
• AUS Tools (DU/LP)
• Agency Guidelines
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• 2 to 10 Years in US Mortgage Operations
• Candidates with experience in Live Underwriting, Credit Decisioning, Income Calculation, Asset Analysis, or Pre-Underwriting preferred.
