Job Summary

Authorizing and authenticating the Histopathology test reports. Monitoring all the work performed in the Histopathology section to determine that reliable data are being generated.

Job Profile

• Grossing of tissue specimens.
• Reporting of all Histopathology & Cytology slides.
• Reporting of frozen sections.
• Authorizing and authenticating the Histopathology test reports. Monitoring all the work performed in the Histopathology section to determine that reliable data are being generated.
• Address any complaints, requests or suggestions from the consultant regarding the Histopathology and Cytology reports.
• Getting the special staining done on the slides wherever required for the interpretation.
• Advising on the Immuno-histochemistry panels wherever required.
• Discussion of the clinical case with the concerned surgeon wherever required.
• Interpretation of the bone marrow aspirate/biopsy.
• Ensuring good staff morale.
• Ensuring that impartiality and confidentiality are provided in day to day working of the laboratory.
• Evaluate competency of Staff at regular intervals.
• Provide Continuous Medical Education for Staff and self.
• Supervise the staff in all aspects and advise wherever necessary.
• Work towards Histopathology section improvement in terms of processes, systems & workload.
• Performing the FNAC Procedure.
• Ensure that all histopathology equipments are operational and the staff is well versed in operations of the same. In absence of Director Pathology interpret the abnormal slides from hematology section.
